1. «Gas ruins the engine»
The opposite. Gas burns cleaner, oil stays clean longer, no deposits form. The problem is a badly tuned system running lean, not the gas.
2. «The cylinder can explode»
A cylinder is tested far above its working pressure, has a relief valve and an 80 % stop. In accident statistics gas cylinders are safer than a petrol tank.
3. «It won't start on gas in winter»
The car always starts on petrol and switches to gas by itself once the engine is warm. Winter makes no difference.
4. «Power drops by half»
With a 4th-generation injection system the loss is 3–5 %, unnoticeable in daily driving. «By half» was about 2nd-generation mixer systems.
5. «You lose the warranty»
A new car's dealer warranty — possibly; ask the dealer. Our installation carries its own 1-year warranty on equipment and labour.
6. «You lose the boot»
A toroidal cylinder sits in the spare-wheel well. The boot stays as it was.
7. «Gas is getting dearer, not worth it any more»
Gas has been under half the price of petrol for 20 years. Even if the gap narrows, the calculator shows the saving at your mileage.
8. «It needs constant servicing»
Filters every 10–15 thousand km, like oil. Cylinder test every 2 years. That is all.
9. «You can't put gas on a hybrid»
The Prius is Yerevan's most common gas car. What matters is tuning for stop-start.
10. «Every workshop is the same»
The difference is which ECU is fitted (new or used), who tuned it, and who answers a year later. Ask all three before comparing prices.
